Seit über 30 Jahren ist die Notationssoftware Encore für viele Musikerinnen und Musiker, Arrangeure und Komponisten die intuitivste und verlässlichste Lösung auf dem Markt – lange bevor spätere Marktführer überhaupt entstanden sind. Als jahrzehntelanger Distributor für den deutschsprachigen Raum habe ich diese Reise gemeinsam mit Ihnen begleitet.

Zur aktuellen Lage rund um Version 6:
Nach der Übernahme der Marken- und Softwarerechte durch Sonic Scores (Don Williams) wurde eine vollständige Neuentwicklung auf 64-Bit-Basis für Windows und macOS angekündigt. Leider hat sich die Fertigstellung von Encore 6 über die letzten Jahre massiv verzögert. Auch die Erreichbarkeit der US-Infrastruktur ist derzeit stark eingeschränkt, sodass aktuell ungewiss ist, wann oder ob eine neue Version erscheinen wird.

Was bedeutet das für Sie?

Windows-Nutzer: Die bestehende Version Encore 5 läuft auf Windows 11 Systemen aktuell sehr stabil. Wenn Sie die Software installiert haben und nutzen, können Sie das weiterhin unbesorgt tun.
Mac-Nutzer: Da neuere macOS-Versionen reine 64-Bit-Systeme sind, lässt sich Encore 5 auf modernen Macs leider nicht mehr ausführen.
Transparenz: Wir empfehlen derzeit, bei Neuanschaffungen oder einem zwingenden Wechsel auf moderne Mac-Systeme nicht auf ein kurzfristiges Update zu warten, sondern gegebenenfalls Ausweichmöglichkeiten zu prüfen.

For over 30 years, the notation software Encore has been one of the most intuitive and reliable solutions on the market for musicians, arrangers, and composers - long before later market leaders even emerged. Having served as a distributor for decades, I have been privileged to accompany this journey alongside you.

Regarding the Current Situation Around Version 6:
Following the acquisition of the brand and software rights by Sonic Scores (Don Williams), a complete 64-bit rebuild was announced for both Windows and macOS. Unfortunately, the release of Encore 6 has been significantly delayed over the past few years. Furthermore, the accessibility of the US infrastructure is currently severely limited, making it uncertain at this time when - or if - a new version will be released.

What Does This Mean for You?

Windows-Users: The existing version Encore 5 is currently running very stably on Windows 11 systems. If you have the software installed and are using it, you can continue to do so without worry.
Mac-Users: Since newer macOS versions are strictly 64-bit systems, Encore 5 can unfortunately no longer be executed on modern Macs.
Transparency: For new purchases or a necessary transition to modern Mac systems, we currently advise against waiting for a short-term update and recommend considering alternative solutions if needed.
